Humanity has traditions of meditation and contemplation with roots in the earliest civilizations. Scientific and religious writings often agree on the benefits of practicing quiet inward focus. But how does meditation fit into the frenetic, noisy, social landscape of the connected world? Can meditation help make the web better, and vice-versa? Or are they fundamentally at odds? I'll present a brief survey of attempts to bring meditation to the web, demo my own soon-to-be-launched online meditation project, and look at future possibilities. I hope this talk leaves you feeling a little more peaceful and refreshed!
